Ultimate Assassin 3 - Coming Soon

After the failure of my latest game Monster Chamber, I wanted to bring back my best game. Ultimate Assassin 2 was a total success. It's the most original and the most loved game I have ever made so far. I am making it even better with Ultimate Assassin 3. Gameplay hasn't changed much but there many changes and improvements.

- Guard AI is nearly perfect now, their movement and all the other things they do make so much more sense now. They are smarter.

- There is no mission bar. The extraction point, I mean the exit door, appears some place in the map as soon as the target is killed. But It never appears 200px or less closer to the assassin.

- Time limit. Player has 3 minutes to complete each assassination. There is also and achievement based on time.

- Different difficulites. Every difficulity has diferent number of levels. Something like:

Easy - 10 LEVELS
Normal - 20 LEVELS
Hard - 25 LEVELS
Impossible - 30 LEVELS

Higher diffulties has all the same levels of the previous difficulties but the number of guards and starting positions of the target and the assassin are different.  Normal, Hard and Impossible are locked at first. You have to finish easy to unlock Normal, finish Normal to unlock Hard...

- There are 6 different achievements for each level.

DONE - Complete the assassination.
UNHURT - Complete with taking no bullets.
SLEIGHT - Complete in less than 45 seconds.
OLD SCHOOL - Complete using no special abilities.
GHOST - Complete without being seen.
ULTIMATE ASSASSIN - No alarms.

- Fast transitions. You can just press space to reload the level instantly as soon as you die or to load the next level as soon as you complete the assasination.

- Guards say different things nearly everytime they speak.

- Bug fixes, tweaks, graphical improvements, new sound and visial effects, performance improvements, better hit detection, etc...


Any of these changes can be sleightly different in the final release. Feel free to send me your own ideas in the comment section.

  8. Kongregate doesn't care about me. I contacted them about deleting some of my old games and they didn't even reply. I won't add the kong api unless these idiots listen to my emails.

  9. i would not like a time limit. most of the lvl is waiting for an opening, so a time limit would not be good. time achievements are ok.

  13. - would be great that if you get seen by the guards beforehand, then the target will run faster, making him harder to catch.
    - would be neat if the target could identify you, and call the guards, requiring you to sneak up behind him.
    - i agree with the time limit thing. I love the idea of time achievements and maybe even after a certain time the level become harder, but overall time to achieve assassination seems too hard.
    - i agree with your stealth statement, but it may provide some strategy to kill a guard since the other guards will trigger the alarm if you do so. So it may get you out of a bind to kill a guard from behind, but you take the risk of the alarm being triggered.

  15. I am working on it. I don't want to rush the game. I have designed 25 levels so far. 30 will be enough, then I will move to menus etc...

  17. I thought on that subject a lot. There are amazing complications about programming it. Footprints vanish after a shorter time in UA3.

  18. It would be great if there was no time limit, but doing the assassination in a certain amount of time would give you an achievement (as I can see you've already done) A time limit would, however, kill the patience and hiding aspect of the game.

  19. It was a mistake that UA2 didn't have a time limit. This game is not about waiting in a safe spot for 5 minutes and waiting for the perfect chance to kill the target. It's about thinking and acting fast. There will be a 4 minute time limit. 4 minute is enough for reacing the target slowly and with patience.

  21. I had lots of ideas for a new special ability. Like an armor ability which lets the assassin use his suit's power to protect himself from bullets. A teleporting ability which allows us to teleport through walls. But to keep the game simple there are just speed and invisibility. Some gamers even play the game without using these abilities.

    I think these two special abilities are enough but If you share your own ideas I would appreciate that.

  24. You die with 2 or 6 hits in UA3. Think it as if the bullet hits your foot or your head.

    a certain space it decreases the chance to step on
    it agin like as if they "already checked"

  27. and maybe multiple targets in certain levels
    where if you kill one of them and the guards
    discover the dead body they try to "protect" the
    other one. and also maybe have it so the victim
    has a line of site too and will try to "run away"
    if he sees you.

  28. and instead of if one guard sees the dead body all
    of them go all over trying to kill you they have
    to come within a certain radius of each other
    so that they both know that the boss is dead
    like they are "telling each other".

    guards and also make it so you "throw it". kind of
    like when assassins on TV throw a rock to
    distract the guards.

  36. i dont undrstand why there even r footprints, if you stab someone blood isnt gonna gush all over ur feet, plus wouldnt it b easier just 2 not put it in?

  38. It would be good to add a ratings or challenges system e.g. finish level in under 1 minute etc.
    also if a player were to finish the game on all difficultys give them something worthwile such as an overpowered new ability or something else, also an ability to kill the guards, me and a friend said that when we finished the game on 1 difficulty level, we could replay all levels in that difficulty with the ability to kill guards, theres nothing we would love more than to act like an assasin and kill everyone.

  40. I'm glad you're ignoring the idiots who want to be able to kill guards!

    I think there should be a way to distract guards though. Maybe you could have 3 special abilities (or more) but only allow the player 2 special ability slots so they would have to choose carefully which abilities were best for which mission? As far as other special abilities go, an armour ability would be cool although I doubt I'd use it, and maybe an ability that lets you put ONE guard to sleep for say 15 seconds ONCE per mission?(although that is probably a bitch to code). I'm sure you have some better ideas for alternative 'specials' anyway, but just something to consider that would add another tactical element to it?

  41. @Ocyris; nobody will be able to kill a single guard in a ultimate assassin game. never. It is also said in the tutorial level of ua3: "You can't kill the guards, green guy is your only target." There is also a story behind this: "You are an assassin sent from the future to eliminate some certain targets.

  42. I don't think there will be a third ability but there is some changes on current ones. For example, assassin's cloak ability becomes inactive if a guard touches him. Guards will also notice the assassin if he actives it while somebody is looking at him.

  43. is it possible to go to the extraction point while guards have sight on you or just alarm?
    or even multiplayer like 2 guards and 2 assassin's 1target ,and even talk to your co-op partner.

  44. It's not possible to use the extraction point while the alarm is on (guards have sight on you = alarm). But there is no mission bar and alarm time is 2/3 of the ua2's alarm.

    Multiplayer would suit ultimate assassin very well but I would need a year to make it. I have no multiplayer game development experience. I guess it would be another game called ultimate assassin: multiplayer if I ever make it.

  49. Is it possible to have like a glass bottle and throw it to get like 1 guards attention.In UA2 i was stuck like for 10min.

  50. You should've used your speed ability to avoid bullets and leave the place you are stuck by making yourself visible.

  51. UA2'yi oynamıştım gerçekten akıcı ve zevkli bir oyun olmuş. Yeni oyunda ses falan çıkararak düşmanları kışkırtabilsek fena olmazdı. Ya da her bölümde yalnız 1 kereliğine ışınlanma hakkımız olabilirdi (hedefin yakınına ışınlanamayacak şekilde). Ya da bazen bölümün rastgele bi yerinde bi power-up çıksa falan. Veya ara sahneler olsa, ya da her bölümün kendine ait bi olayı olsa (atıyorum bi bölümde aradan sıvışmamız gerek bunun için korumaların konuştuğu bi zamanı kollamamız gereksin). Bunları da değerlendirirseniz sevinirim. İyi çalışmalar.

  52. UA2'yi yeni bitirdim, güzel oyun.

    Hedef öldürüldüğünde yerde kan gölleri oluşması saçma, bıçaklanma ve vurulma durumlarının ikisinde de yerde kan gölü oluşmaz, bence onu kaldırmalısınız. Kan gölleri kaldırılırsa dolayısıyla ayak izleri de kalkmış olur, ayak izleri yerine oyuncu vurulduğunda yarasından tek tek damlayan kan izleri iyi olabilir. Hedef öldürüldüğünde ise geride hiçbir izin kalmaması daha mantıklı çünkü sonuçta bu bir suikastçi (assassin), yani temiz iş yapar. :) Sadece öldürülmüş hedefin üzeri kanlansa yeter bence.

    Ayrıca hedef ile ilgili daha değişik kodlamalar yapmalısınız. Hedef, öylece önüne geçip durduğumuzda bile hiçbir tepki vermiyor. Bence hedefin de görüş alanı olmalı, tabi ki korumaların görüş alanından daha kısa ve dar bir görüş alanından bahsediyorum çünkü mantıklı olarak onun dikkati korumalar gibi etrafı gözetmede, kollamada değil. Hedefin görüş alanına girdiğimizde önce bir süre ayakta durup öylece bakınmalı, daha sonra da oyuncudan kaçmaya çalışmalı ve bir koruma bulmaya çalışmalıdır, korumaya ulaştığında alarm çalar, hedef eski haline döner, korumalar alarma geçer. Ayakta durmasını, karşısındakini tanımaya çalışması ve neyin ne olduğunu anlamaya çalışması sırasında geçen süre olarak açıklayabiliriz.

    Genelde, hedefin görüş alanı daha küçük olacağı ve oyuncu görüş alanına girdiğinde belli bir süre öylece duracağı için çoğu karşılaşmada öleceği kesin ki mantıklısı ve güzeli de bu. Ancak hedefin gözünün önünde bir süre durmamıza rağmen hedefin hiçbir tepki vermemesi çok saçma.

    Önerilerimin sizin için zor bir kodlaması olacağını zannetmiyorum. Çalışmalarınızın devamını bekliyorum, başarılar.

  53. what about like adding tables with things on them like armor or maybe trowing knives and if you pick up throwing knives you can throw them and kill your target from a distance while maintaining silence one other thing i was thinking of is like what if you had smoke bombs (i don't know if it would be difficult to make because i'm not very good at designs)the third thing id like to ask is while you are obviously a very smart man and i don't like to contradict people i don't think that in ua2 a body guard would say mustn't because most body guards arent very smart. and the final question i'd like to ask you is i find my self very "savvy" when it comes to computers and if i intern was to try to make a game where would i begin and i'm hoping to make a 0$ cost game because im only 12 but still so i can't like go to a collage or any thing but i'd really want to make a game so if you could think of anything and answer my question that would be fantastic thank you very much and i hope i'm not wasting you time

  54. @Mason; I wasn't even in highscool when I stated learning flash. School is not needed other than for math, geometry and trigeometry. Everything you need to learn is on the internet.
